Steam Trade URLs And Trade Holds: What A Skin Withdrawal Needs
Every CS2 skin withdrawal, from any site, ends with a Steam trade offer. Two Steam settings decide whether that offer can reach you and how long the item is held once it does: your trade URL and your Steam Guard status. Here is what each one does.
What a trade URL is
A trade URL is a link that lets someone send you a trade offer without being on your friends list. It contains your account's partner number and a private token, and it looks like steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/ followed by those two values. It is how a site knows where to deliver an item.
Where to find yours
In Steam, open your inventory, go to Trade Offers, and choose the option about who can send you trade offers. The trade URL is listed there under the section for third-party sites, with a button to copy it. On Cryptoflip it is saved in your profile before your first skin withdrawal.
Your inventory has to be public
Sites check your inventory to confirm the account can receive the item. If your inventory privacy is set to private or friends only, a withdrawal can fail before the offer is sent. The setting lives in your Steam profile's privacy options.
Treat the URL like a wallet address
Anyone with your trade URL can send you offers, which is exactly what scammers want: a convincing fake offer that looks like the delivery you are waiting for. Only paste it into sites you use. If it has been shared somewhere it should not have been, the same Steam page lets you create a new one, which stops the old one working.
Trade holds come from Steam Guard
If Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator has not been active on your account for at least seven days, incoming trades can be held for up to fifteen days before the item lands. Turning the authenticator on, and waiting out the seven days, removes that hold. This is Valve's rule and applies on every site.
The seven-day cooldown is a separate rule
Even with the authenticator active, an item you receive in a trade carries a seven-day cooldown before you can trade it on. You can see and use it in the meantime; you just cannot pass it to someone else yet.
Accept the offer inside Steam
Open the offer from Steam's own trade offers page or app, check that the item matches what you chose, and confirm it in the mobile authenticator if asked. Never accept an offer that asks you to give something in return for a withdrawal, and never log in through a link someone sent you.
If a trade fails
Trades can fail for reasons on Steam's side, such as an inventory set to private or a temporary trade restriction. On Cryptoflip an item whose trade fails is not charged, and the balance returns so you can try again or pick something else.
Get the trade URL right, keep the inventory public and turn on the mobile authenticator a week before you need it, and a skin withdrawal is a trade offer you accept in a few seconds. The CS2 Skins page covers the rest of the withdrawal.
