The destination tag is not optional
An XRP deposit address is shared, and the destination tag is what identifies your account behind it. Send without the tag, or with the wrong one, and the network still reports the transfer as successful while the funds are not attributed to you. Copy the tag as carefully as you copy the address.
Seconds to settle, almost nothing to send
The XRP Ledger closes every few seconds and charges a fee measured in fractions of a cent, so once the transfer leaves your wallet there is very little waiting.
Your sending wallet needs a reserve
The XRP Ledger requires an account to keep a small minimum balance, so a wallet cannot send its entire holding down to zero. That is a rule of the network, not something Cryptoflip applies.
Watch out: If your exchange calls it a tag, a memo or a destination tag, it is the same field. Leaving it blank is the single most common way an XRP deposit is lost.
