How The Cryptoflip Wheel Works: Multipliers, Win Chance And The Edge
The Wheel is Cryptoflip's single-player game. You choose how much you want to win relative to your bet, and the game tells you how likely that is before you spin. Everything about it follows from one formula.
You pick the multiplier
Choose any multiplier from 1.01x to 100x. A win pays your bet times that multiplier; a loss pays nothing. There is no separate fee on top.
The win chance comes from the multiplier
Win chance in percent is 90 divided by the multiplier. At 2x that is 45%. At 1.1x it is about 81.8%. At 10x it is 9%, and at 100x it is 0.9%. The chance is shown before you spin, so you always know the odds of the bet you are placing.
Where the 10% edge sits
A perfectly fair wheel would use 100 divided by the multiplier. Using 90 instead is the house edge: every spin returns, on average, 90% of what was bet, whatever multiplier you choose. A higher multiplier does not cost more; it just makes results swing harder.
How a spin is decided
The roll is an HMAC-SHA256 of your client seed and the nonce, keyed with the server seed. The first eight characters of that hash become a number, which is turned into a roll between 0 and 0.9999 and mapped to a point on the wheel. The winning segment covers exactly your win chance.
Committed before you spin
You are shown a SHA-256 hash of the server seed before you play. The seed is revealed afterwards, so you can recompute the roll and confirm the result with the verifier on the Provably Fair page.
Low multipliers are not safe bets
A 1.1x target wins most of the time, which feels safe, but each loss takes the whole stake while each win pays a tenth of it. Over enough spins the 10% edge applies the same way at 1.1x as at 100x.
Decide your stop before the first spin
The Wheel settles instantly, which makes it easy to play quickly. Set a budget and a stopping point first, and use the responsible gambling page to lock your account if you need a break.
Pick a multiplier, read the chance, and the 10% edge is the only hidden-looking number, and it is not hidden. Try the Wheel with a small stake and check a spin in the verifier afterwards.
